G.W. Graham varsity boys rugby team overpowers R.E. Mountain of Langley

LANGLEY — In a demonstration of sheer dominance and skill, the G.W. Graham varsity boys rugby squad overpowered R.E. Mountain Secondary in a 67-0 road victory Thursday (Apr. 11).

The match, held at R.E. Mountain in Langley, showcased the formidable prowess of the Grizzlies rugby team throughout the game. Coach Michael Jordan says the team’s success was highlighted by an exceptional performance from Yapo Conteh, who was named Player of the Match.

“Conteh’s outstanding skills and strategic play were pivotal in leading his team to victory, earning him accolades from both his team and spectators,” Jordan said. “Today’s match displayed the hard work, dedication, and spirit of our players. This victory is a testament to their commitment to the sport and to each other. Yapo Conteh’s performance was inspirational, and it’s a privilege to watch these young athletes grow and succeed.”

Coach Jordan says the win amounts to a significant accomplishment for the his team, setting a high standard for the remainder of the season.

The G.W. Graham varsity boys rugby team is set to face Robert Bateman Secondary of Abbotsford in their next match scheduled for Tuesday, April 15, with a 4 p.m. kickoff at G.W. Graham.
