HOPE — The District of Hope intends to revitalize Memorial Park in downtown Hope with the advent of a splash pad thanks to a generous donation of $20,000 from BlueTriton Brands.

According to a statement Wednesday morning from the municipality, the district hopes to refresh the park through the installation of a spray park to promote community vibrancy and engagement.

“The District of Hope values our collaborative partnerships and the collective effort to breathe new life into our downtown core,” Mayor Victor Smith said. “Thanks to the generous contribution of $20,000 from BlueTriton Brands, significant progress is underway. This funding will play a crucial role in bringing to life the community’s aspiration of revitalizing Memorial Park.”

The district says the Chamber of Commerce will spearhead fundraising efforts for the splash pad project in conjunction with the Memorial Park Refresh initiative.

“With each stride forward, the District edges closer to realizing its vision of an improved and thriving downtown core, driven by the power of collaboration and community spirit,” the district said in a statement.

The district says it recognizes Memorial Park as an integral piece of its downtown core. Corresponding plans were developed to upgrade the park with additional seating, lighting and a spray park, accentuating the existing complement of tennis, pickleball anad basketball courts.

A comprehensive study was conducted in 2023 in collaboration with local partners that led the district to identify key initiatives that could rejuvenate the downtown area.
