Rural Chilliwack fire department promotes its first ever female training officer

CHILLIWACK — The Chilliwack River Valley Fire Department on Chilliwack Lake Road has promoted one of its volunteers to a rank that has not been previously held by a female.

According to a social media post from the department, Fire Chief Mike Danyluk congratulated Tegan Luckham on being promoted to the new role of training officer.

“Last night some new officers were appointed, and we’d like to share the exciting news,” CRVFD wrote on social media. “Tegan Luckham was promoted to Training Officer, she is the first ever female Training Officer for CRVFD.”

In similar moves Tuesday night (Apr. 9), Keagan Munro and Adam Taylor were both promoted to captain positions.
