HOPE — Residents of Hope are being advised of planned tree removal operations along the Rotary Trail this week. A number of trees along the trail have been identified as possible hazards to anyone using the trails.

According to an advisory from the contracted tree removal company, the problem trees have died and are at risk of falling or dropping limbs without warning.

The work to remove the problem trees will begin Monday (Apr. 8) and continue through to Friday. . Safety measures including the erection of barricades to restrict access to work areas will be put in place.

The District of Hope is urging pedestrians, cyclists, and trail users to adhere strictly to barricades and avoid venturing into restricted zones. It says alternative routes should be planned or schedules should be adjusted accordingly.
