City of Chilliwack looking for companies to build $4 million pickleball facility
CHILLIWACK — Amid increasing participation in the sport, the City of Chilliwack has issued a request for qualifications (RFQ) seeking qualified companies to build a 10-court pickleball facility estimated to cost $4 million behind the Landing Centre on Spadina.
According to a 23-page bid document on the city’s website, the purpose of the RFQ is to invite interested parties to submit responses to the city indicating their interest in and providing their qualifications for the construction of the Chilliwack Pickleball Facility. The city hopes to release the individual request for proposals in April 2024 with substantial completion of the project by July 2025. The responses to this request for qualifications will be used to establish a shortlist of three qualified respondents who will be invited to a formal RFP.
The city envisions a new building with a floor area of roughly 28,500 square feet, including a reception and administrative area of about 1,000 square feet and an open floor plan consisting of 27,500 square feet, with the goal of producing 10 pickleball courts.
