ABBOTSFORD — Abbotsford Police are investigating after a 52-year-old female pedestrian was struck by a car early Tuesday morning (Mar. 12).

According to a news release from Constable Art Stele, AbbyPD patrol officers responded to the intersection of King Road and Riverside Road in Abbotsford for a reported collision involving a motor vehicle and a pedestrian.

When police arrived on scene, officers, along with other first responders, located a 52-year-old female with what appeared to be serious injuries. The female was subsequently transported to the hospital for further medical treatment.

The driver of the involved vehicle remained at the scene and is cooperating with police, Cst. Stele said. Police say DUI impairment is not believed to be a contributing factor in the incident.
