Mission RCMP investigate shots fired outside Silverdale property

MISSION — Mounties in Mission are investigating an incident of shots fired that happened Saturday morning (March 9) in the Silverdale area of Mission.

According to a news release from Corporal Harrison Mohr from the Mission RCMP detachment, police say residents in the 8900 block of Hayward Place (Street) in the Silverdale area of Mission called police this morning after hearing gunshots around 6 a.m.. Mission RCMP arrived to find numerous shell casings on the street, but there was no immediate indication that any individual or anything had been struck by the bullets. However, the investigation is ongoing, police say, and a neighbouring residence has been secured for further examination.

Officers with Mission RCMP’s Serious Crime Unit will be working in this area throughout the day, searching for additional evidence related to the incident. Anyone who heard or saw anything suspicious in the area recently is asked to contact Mission RCMP at 604-826-7161.
