CHILLIWACK — Rona, one of Canada’s leading home improvement retailers operating or servicing over 400 corporate and affiliated stores in Canada, will hold a hiring event throughout British Columbia this Saturday, March 9 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

In conjunction with the company’s ongoing Spring Hiring campaign, the event aims to fill hundreds of full- and part-time positions across the province, including multiple positions at Rona+ and Rona corporate stores in the Vancouver Coast and Mountains area.

There is a Rona store in Chilliwack at 45656 Yale Road West near Cascade Christian and Imagine High, and two locations in Abbotsford (1225 Sumas Way and 32073 South Fraser Way).

During the event, job seekers can simply drop by a participating store, like the one in Chilliwack or the two stores in Abbotsford, and have the opportunity to meet members of the Rona recruitment teams on-the-spot to discover career possibilities, as well as student or pre-retirement employment opportunities offered to them. Positions available vary from store to store, according to store needs.

Rona+ and Rona stores offer job seekers an ideal environment in which to build a solid foundation for the future.

“Our network offers much more than a job. For youth, it’s an immense learning ground to acquire new skills by working with passionate colleagues who are always ready to help and offer advice, while more experienced workers may appreciate the chance to pursue their passion at RONA for the last leg of their active life or even come out of retirement a few days a week to connect with people and share their knowledge with colleagues and customers,” says Marc Larouche, national director of talent acquisition at Rona Inc.

The company says it is looking for enthusiastic candidates who are keen to pass on their experience and share their passion for gardening, decorating, back yarding, barbecuing, renovating, and much more, as well as applicants who are keen to learn, hence the tagline of this year’s hiring campaign, “Your skills speak louder than your CV.”

The company says it provides its employees with all the tools they need to grow professionally and offers development opportunities to those who are interested in growing their skills and career.
