**UPDATE at 4:30 p.m.: Drive BC says the vehicle recovery west of Cole Road in Abbotsford has been completed.**

**UPDATE at 2:56 p.m.: Drive BC says Highway 1 has reopened at Cole Road (exit 99) between Abbotsford and Chilliwack. Motorists should anticipate heavy delays due to congestion. The westbound left lane is closed/blocked for vehicle recovery. Expect delays due to congestion.**

**UPDATE at 12:15 p.m. Thursday: Highway 1 eastbound traffic before Cole Road (exit 99) is still being blocked after an earlier vehicle incident. Drive BC says motorists are being detoured via Cole Road to No. 3 Rd. Expect heavy delays.**

**UPDATE at 11:15: DriveBC says the westbound vehicle incident just west of the Vedder Canal bridge has been cleared. A Chilliwack resident posted on Facebook at 11:26 a.m. Thursday stating that motorists trying to get to Abbotsford today need to leave with extra time. The highway is going approximately 20 km/hour starting at No. 3 Road, and multiple cars are reportedly in the median. The side roads are also slow and busy.**

CHILLIWACK — Highway 1 is a commuter’s nightmare between Chilliwack and Abbotsford Thursday morning (Feb. 29).
