Mission RCMP investigating a stolen boat from an area lake

MISSION — Thieves have become so brazen and unashamed these days, not even boats are immune from their mischief.

According to a news release Monday (Feb. 26) from the Mission RCMP detachment, Mounties say a Hewescraft aluminum boat was stolen from Stave Lake sometime during a five-day stretch between Saturday, February 17 and Wednesday, Feb. 21. The boat in question had been tied up to a dock near the Rocky Point Forest Service Road.

Police say the boat is 21 feet long, has a fully enclosed cabin interior, aa large white Garmin GPS dome on top, and a pair of outboard motors. Thieves would have required their own trailer to make off with the boat.

Anyone with information about this theft, or anyone who sees this boat, is asked to call Mission RCMP detachment at 604-826-7161, and quote file 24-2045.
