Chilliwack beats Coquitlam in shootout

COQUIITLAM — Jordan Geike and Caleb Elfering scored shootout goals while Vladimir Nikitin stopped 30 of 32 shots to lift the Chilliwack Chiefs to a 3 – 2 victory over the Coquitlam Express Friday (Feb. 23) in Coquitlam.

Brendan Ruskowski and Trey Patterson scored goals for the Chiefs. The win moved Chilliwack four points ahead of third place Alberni Valley in the BCHL Coastal Division standings.

The game marked the fourth meeting between the two clubs in February. Each team won twice and all of the games were decided by one goal.

The Chiefs are in Langley on Saturday in a 7:15 p.m. contest.
