G.W. Graham running back to play university ball in the Prairies
CHILLIWACK — G.W. Graham running back and defensive end Yapo Conteh played a key role in the team’s road to the playoffs the past two seasons, including a senior campaign that saw him amass eight touchdowns and rack up 32 tackles.
Conteh, a 6-foot, 215-pound missile who averaged 9.25 yards per carry, announced that he has committed to play football at the University of Manitoba and join the Bisons program. G.W. Graham publicized Conteh’s signing with a social media post in late January.
“Yapo started off with 8 years with the Chilliwack Giants, and for the last 4 years with the GW Grizzlies, we have all known that his work ethic, competitive drive, and desire to get better will land him with an opportunity at the next level,” G.W. Graham assistant coach Ian Parks said.
In addition to averaging over nine yards a carry on offence, Conteh had four sacks and a fumble recovery on defence.
