One sent to hospital in Surrey shooting

SURREY — R-C-M-P in Surrey are asking anyone with information or dash-cam footage to come forward after a shooting that left a man with serious injuries.

A statement from the Mounties says officers responded to a report of gunfire near the busy intersection of Scott Road and 84 Avenue on Friday afternoon.

They say a man with gunshot wounds was taken to hospital for treatment.

A little more than half an hour after the shooting, police say they received a report of a vehicle fire, and further investigation is needed to determine whether the two incidents are linked.
