CHILLIWACK — Highway 1 through the Fraser Canyon was reopened to traffic Tuesday (Jan. 30) following flooding that scattered debris across the highway.
In a social media post, DriveBC says motorists should expect to encounter some areas where passage has been reduced to single-lane alternating traffic as work crews continue the clean up. Delays of up to 20 minutes should be expected.
The highway was closed Monday from Lytton to Spences Bridge following heavy rains that swept through the area over the weekend.
DriveBC says a geotechnical survey was conducted on some areas over the 32 km closure to ensure the safety of the motoring public.
