UPDATE: Trans-Canada remains closed through Fraser Canyon overnight

UPDATE: DriveBC reports Highway 1 through the Fraser Canyon will be closed in both directions overnight Monday. A geotechnical investigation is underway. DriveBC says an update will provided Tuesday morning.

UPDATE :  Highway 1 through the Fraser Canyon has been opened. However traffic is reduced to single lane alternating traffic in some areas.

CHILLIWACK — The Trans-Canada highway through the Fraser Canyon has been closed by flooding.

DriveBC reports Highway 1 is closed in both directions between the intersection of Highway 12 and the junction of Highway 8. The 32 kilometre stretch runs from Spences Bridge to the north and Lytton in the south.
