MISSION — A new week, another break and enter involving stolen firearms in Mission.

Mounties in Mission say a break-in occurred at a home on 9th Avenue at approximately 3:20 a.m. on Saturday, January 20. No one was home during the break and enter. Responding officers from the Mission RCMP detachment arrived to find the back door of the house broken, and the whole house and its contents had been searched and rummaged. A safe containing multiple firearms was taken, as well as the homeowner’s white 2015 Dodge Ram 3500 pickup. The truck has several unique features, including black rims, white lights on the roof, and a camper tie-down bar under the rear bumper.

Mounties are asking anyone who may have seen this truck in the past few days, or who has any information about this crime, to contact the Mission RCMP at 604-826-7161 and reference file 24-686.

Police do not believe that this is related to the other recent break and enter where firearms were stolen on Cottonwood Street on January 17, as that suspect, 57-year-old Paul Fontaine of Coquitlam, was already in custody when the residence on 9th Avenue was broken into over the weekend.
