MISSION — Mounties with the Mission RCMP detachment say a woman has been arrested in Mission after she allegedly robbed a gas station and threatened to kill the male employee.

According to a weekly update provided on social media by police, Mission RCMP say a male employee of a gas station on Logan Avenue in Mission told police that on Sunday morning, January 7, a female had walked behind the retail counter and threatened to kill him before taking money from the cash register. Police say they quickly arrived and spoke with the employee, who had not been physically harmed during the robbery.

The gas station employee told police he suspected the woman was still somewhere inside the store. Police searched the building and located the female hiding in an upstairs office. The 36-year-old woman was arrested without incident and the money was recovered, and presumably returned to the gas station.

The woman is now facing charges of robbery and uttering threats. Her name was not released by police. It’s not known whether she’s still in custody.
