ABBOTSFORD — Today marks the one-year anniversary of the tragic event that claimed the life of 38-year-old Marc Ellis. On the night of December 11, 2022, Marc’s selfless act to rescue a wandering dog in the 3600 block of Lefevre Rd turned fatal.

Around midnight, Marc noticed the dog on the roadway and pulled over to help. As he attempted to corral the dog, a red Dodge Ram pickup truck, driven by two individuals leaving a nearby party, collided with him, resulting in his death.

The driver and passenger of the pickup truck were captured on security cameras fleeing the scene on foot, leaving behind the vehicle registered to an Abbotsford business. Despite ongoing investigations, the identities of these individuals remain unknown.
