CP Holiday Train to roll through Agassiz this weekend
AGASSIZ — The Canadian Pacific (CP) Holiday Train is back for a second straight year in Agassiz this weekend after two virtual concerts in the pandemic years of 2020 and 2021, as it seeks to entertain and raise money, food and awareness for local food banks in what should be an entertaining Christmas-time event.
The CP holiday train 2023 began its annual tour of live events on November 20 and will culminate with stops in B.C. The brightly decorated locomotive will roll through B.C. and stop at small towns and cities along the way to put on shows.
The Holiday Train event kicks off at 5:30 p.m. this Sunday, December 17 in Centennial Park in Agassiz. The festivities will feature food, drinks, and live performances from Tyler Shaw and Kiesza.
Shaw is known within the music industry as a multi-platinum-selling artist, music producer, and actor. The Chinese-Canadian, who hails from Vancouver, ascended the industry ranks when he registered platinum sales in 2012 with his first hit song. His music has been nominated for multiple Juno Awards, and he has opened for massive international artists like Shawn Mendes and Alessia Cara, and toured with Selena Gomez. In 2021, Shaw was the catalyst behind ArtistsCAN with Fefe Dobson to raise funds for the Canadian Red Cross COVID-19 relief efforts. This year, Tyler is set to release new holiday music.
