Woman, 38, suffers life-threatening injuries after being struck by a car
ABBOTSFORD — The Abbotsford Police Department says a woman suffered critical, life-threatening injuries following a collision at Ware Street and Farrant Crescent in Abbotsford Thursday afternoon (Dec. 7).
According to a news release from Constable Art Stele, AbbyPD patrol members were dispatched to the intersection of Ware/Farrant on Thursday at 3:48 p.m. for a reported crash between a single vehicle and a pedestrian. Once first responders arrived on scene, they administered medical aid to a 38-year-old female who sustained critical, life-threatening injuries.
Police say the driver of the vehicle remained at the scene of the crash and has been cooperating with authorities. Police concluded that impairment was not a factor in the crash. The victim has been transported to hospital and remains in critical condition at this time, Cst. Stele reported.
AbbyPD patrol members, with tactical assistance from members of the Integrated Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Service (ICARS), are on the scene and investigating. Traffic has been redirected in the area due to the ongoing investigation.
