Updated: Power has been restored to nearly 600 BC Hydro customers in Chilliwack who had no power for hours
**UPDATE at 3:20 p.m.: Power has now been restored to customers in the impacted area north of Portage Avenue.**
CHILLIWACK — Nearly 600 BC Hydro customers have been without power for over four hours following a power outage that began just before 9 a.m. this morning.
According to BC Hydro’s website, 594 customers have been without power since 8:51 a.m. The impacted area includes homes north of Portage Avenue, west of Hope River Road, south of Elliott Avenue and east of Bonavista Street in Fairfield Island.
The cause is under investigation. Crews have been assigned. Hydro’s website was last updated at 12:43 p.m.
