**Update at 9:43 a.m. Monday: Power has now been restored to over 500 customers near downtown Chilliwack.**
CHILLIWACK — Over 500 BC Hydro customers are without power Monday morning (Dec. 4) near the Five Corners intersection of Yale Road and Young Road in downtown Chilliwack.
According to the BC Hydro outage map, power went out at 8:09 a.m. for 509 customers east of Young Road, north of Yale Road, west of Williams Street and south of Mellard Street.
The cause of the power outage is under investigation. Crews have not yet been assigned as of 8:25 a.m.
