More Chilliwack poultry farms found with avian flu

CHILLIWACK — Another outbreak of avian flu has been identified in Chilliwack.

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency says the case, as well as two others identified Friday in Chilliwack and Langley Township, involve commercial poultry farms.

The agency’s national tally lists 48 locations in B-C with infected flocks.

It says the province has an estimated 5.1 million birds that are impacted, or more than half the total number of infected birds across the country.
