CHILLIWACK — Two weeks ago, Lord Tweedsmuir came back from a halftime deficit to give G.W. Graham a run for its money in the second half before the Grizzlies finished the deal and beat the Panthers at home on November 4.

This time around, the Grizzlies left nothing to chance and dominated on defence with four interceptions and two fumble recoveries, and quarterback Aiden Hewitt completed 15 passes for 192 yards and three touchdowns, as G.W. Graham blanked Lord Tweedsmuir in a resounding 42-0 win Friday night at Exhibition Stadium in Chilliwack.

“It was a great win by all three facets of the game, but especially proud of the defence’s dominating performance on the way to the semifinals at BC Place next week,” said head coach and defensive coordinator Ryk Piche.

Defensive backs Christian Beck, Carter Dallas and Grady Andrea, along with linebacker Riley Ashley, each had an interception to stifle the Panthers offence. Ashley led the way with seven tackles, followed by linebacker Billy Hunter with five tackles.

On offence, QB Hewitt connected with Beck, Hunter and Dallas for scoring strikes. Carter Dallas racked up over 100 receiving yards in the win. Five different players had touchdowns as part of a well-balanced attack. Running back Yapo Conteh churned out 103 yards and two touchdowns, and running back Maleky Colgiu amassed 70 rushing yards and 35 yards receiving.

Offensive coordinator Matt Paisley said, “Once again, we were able to spread the ball around and get ready for next week’s game.”

The Grizzlies will battle the Carson Graham Eagles next Saturday, November 25 at BC Place in Vancouver in the AAA provincial semifinals.
