VANCOUVER — Miriam Nacionales’ dream of buying a home might not have to wait much longer.
The Vancouver resident’s goal of home ownership may come to fruition after learning she won $1 million from the July 1, 2023 Lotto 6/49 draw.
“I remembered to check the ticket I shared with a friend,” recalled Nacionales, who stopped into Dundas Market in Vancouver with her son to do so. “I also found my other ticket I had not checked yet. The [ticket self-scanner] was a bit higher than my eyes, so I was on my tippy toes and saw lots of zeroes!”
Nacionales was in shock, with her son even asking, “are you okay?” Nacionales did not tell him right away that she won the lottery, despite “celebrating” inside the store.
