Suspicious fire in Hope

Hope Fire Dept. responds to suspicious motorhome fire on Silver Skagit Road outside of Hope

HOPE — The Hope Fire Department says it responded to a suspicious fire late Sunday night outside of town on Silver Skagit Road.

According to a news release from Fire Chief Thomas Cameron, Hope Fire was summoned for the report of an RV fire approximately two kilometres out of area Sunday night (Oct. 29) at approximately 11:56 p.m. On arrival, fire crews found a fully engulfed motorhome in flames with several exposures, including RVs and other vehicles nearby.

A total of eight firefighters were on scene until 2:09 a.m., meaning firefighters were on scene for approximately 2 hours.

The scene was left with RCMP officers from the Upper Fraser Valley Regional Detachment for investigation.
