GoByBike weekend events planned in Chilliwack

CHILLIWACK — The fall edition of the GoByBike event hits its top gear this weekend with a pair of events planned.

Residents are invited to join Cycle Chilliwack on the Vedder Rotary Trail for a ride Saturday (Oct. 21) from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Refreshments and prizes will be part of the event.

Those who prefer trail rides will have a chance to take part in the Chilliwack Gravel Ride Sunday afternoon from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. The 26 km Vedder Rotary Trail ride will start from the Vedder Dong Park parking lot.

More than 55 thousand British Columbians participated in GoByBike week event in 2022. The program is meant to promote sustainability through cycling. It believes participating riders can protect the environment by reducing greenhouse gas emissions, improving air quality, decreasing the need for more roadways, and increasing the sharing of public spaces.
