Abbotsford Police make arrests following a series of Break and Enters
ABBOTSFORD — The Abbotsford Police Department’s Crime Reduction Unit (CRU) has successfully apprehended two suspects linked to a string of daytime residential break-ins that have plagued the community since January 2023.
The CRU initiated an investigation in the crimes. Following months of investigative activities, their work bore fruit with the arrests of two suspects: Tyler Edward William Penill and Bryan Thomas Barker.
Penill is facing a total of 14 counts of Break and Enter and one count of Fraud. Barker is charged with three counts of Break and Enter, one count of Possession of Stolen Property, and one count of Fraud.
“The Abbotsford Police recognizes the personal impact that BNE’s (break and enter) have on victims and continues to make them a priority,” said AbbyPD Crime Reduction Unit Sergeant, Cory Johansen. “We are hoping the arrest of these two prolific offenders can bring some justice and closure to those impacted by their crimes.”
