Harvester catches fire twice in Rosedale over the weekend

CHILLIWACK — The Chilliwack Fire Department was dispatched twice over the long weekend after a harvester caught fire near Kitchen Hall Road and Jesperson Road.

According to scanner traffic, Chilliwack firefighters attached to five fire engines responded to the report of a harvester on fire Friday night (Sept. 29) at about 9:09 p.m. Engines 1, 4, 1-2, 1-3 and Rescue 1 were deployed.

The fire was extinguished by about 9:43 p.m., according to scanner traffic.

That same harvester appears to have caught fire a second time Monday morning, prompting a second response from the Chilliwack Fire Department.

That same harvester appears to have reignited a second time on the stat holiday Monday as Chilliwack firefighters were called out at 6:05 a.m. to Kitchen Hall Road and Jesperson Road. Engines 1 and 1-2 were dispatched from the Cheam Avenue firehall.

According to scanner traffic, a caller contacted dispatch to say the fire involved the same harvester that caught fire Friday night.

Chilliwack firefighters had the fire suppressed by 6:31 a.m.
