Surrey scores late to defeat the Chilliwack Chiefs
SURREY — Ty Brassington’s goal with just under 6 minutes left in the third period snapped a tie and led the Surrey Eagles to a 4 – 2 victory over the Chilliwack Chiefs Sunday (Oct. 1) in Surrey. The Eagles captain ripped home a rebound from the slot to snap the tie and help the Eagles remain undefeated four games into the season.
Brian Morse and Elliot Dutil scored for the Chiefs who fell to 2 and 3 on the season. Chilliwack trailed 1 – 0 after the opening period and 2 – 1 after forty minutes but fought back to tie the game on both occasions.
The Chiefs outshot Surrey 33 – 31 and went 1 for 3 on the powerplay. The Eagles scored once on four powerplay opportunities.
Chilliwack is off until Friday when they face the Eagles again in Surrey.
