Abbotsford residents asked to review concept plan for Mill Lake park
ABBOTSFORD — The City of Abbotsford is inviting residents to have their say in shaping the future of Mill Lake Park through a new community engagement initiative. The Mill Lake Park Master Plan, a comprehensive roadmap for the park’s development over the next 15-20 years, is the subject of a community check-in, to gather feedback on three potential concept plans for the city.
Residents can participate in several ways, including an online survey, as well as public open houses on October 11th and 21st at the park. Workshops with user groups and stakeholders will also be held.
The City says the initial phase of public consultation, conducted in the summer of 2021, yielded valuable insights from the community. Residents expressed their desire for enhanced park amenities, improved walking and cycling paths, better signage, and the preservation and enhancement of environmental features. The suggestions have been incorporated into the three concept plans that are now up for discussion.
Residents and stakeholders are encouraged to view the design concepts, access more information on the project, provide feedback, and submit their own ideas via Let’s Talk Abbotsford until the end of October. The City aims to formulate one cohesive vision for the draft master plan that resonates with the entire community.
