154 BC Hydro customers north of downtown Chilliwack could be without power much of Monday

CHILLIWACK — BC Hydro says an equipment failure has left 154 BC Hydro customers north of downtown Chilliwack without power Monday morning, and their power could be off for most of the day.

According to an outage update on its website, BC Hydro says 154 customers near Young and Lewis have been without power since 6:50 a.m.

The hydro outage area includes Young Road and Lewis Avenue, west of Young to include Berkeley Avenue and Henley Avenue, and the northern end of Corbould Street. The affected area is south of Minter Country Garden.

Crews are on site, BC Hydro indicated on its website, and the power is expected to be back by 4 p.m.

A small power outage involving planned maintenance is affecting 25 customers near 44900 Commercial Court. Power is expected to be back on by 7 p.m. Monday.

Another BC Hydro outage involving equipment failure is impacting five customers in the 6200 block of Hopedale Road in Chilliwack Monday morning.
