Chilliwack Fair opens today

CHILLIWACK — The second oldest continually run fair is celebrating its 151 anniversary with its opening Friday (Aug. 11) in Chilliwack. The three-day Chilliwack Fair is taking over Chilliwack Heritage Park through the weekend.

While it all began as a celebration of the agricultural heritage in the region, it has expanded to showcase the growing diversity of the Fraser Valley.

The 2023 fair will include the Vancouver Circus School, CampH FMX bike flipping, live music, talented local artists, a kitchen stage, a photo booth, along with traditional attractions such as the BC Rodeo Association event, a rough stock competition Friday and a celebration of 4-H.

The fairgrounds will be open from 9 a.m. for 11 p.m. each day except for Sunday when the fair closes at 5 p.m.

There will be plenty of musical entertainment available throughout the weekend, including country recording artist JoJo Mason who headlines the Friday night show at 9 p.m. at the Elements Casino outdoor stage.
