ABBOTSFORD — Abbotsford police are continuing to hunt down drivers with dangerous driving habits in the community.

In a social media message Friday (Jul. 28), AbbyPD say a driver was clocked at 168 km/h near the intersection of Highway 11 and Townshipline Road this week.

The driver was given a hefty fine for speeding and the vehicle was impounded.

According to ICBC, speeding is a major contributing factor to car crash fatalities in B.C. On average, 80 British Columbians are killed in speed related crashes each year. It says each time you double your speed, the stopping power needed is multiplied by four.
