Chilliwack RCMP confirms death of 30-year-old man after being found in a pool

CHILLIWACK — A Upper Fraser Valley Regional Detachment spokesperson says that a 30-year-old man died early Tuesday morning (July 25) after being found in a backyard pool in Chilliwack.

According to a statement from Sgt. Krista Vrolyk, media relations spokesperson for the Upper Fraser Valley Regional Detachment, a 30-year-old man passed away despite resuscitation efforts by bystanders and emergency personnel.

Criminality is not believed to be a factor in this death, which remains under investigation by the BC Coroners Service, Sgt. Vrolyk said.

“Our sincere condolences to all those affected by this tragedy,” Sgt. Vrolyk said in her statement.
