Serious crime unit of Surrey RCMP takes over case of two BC children missing

SURREY – Surrey RCMP say the woman who allegedly abducted her two children was spotted by closed-circuit TV emerging from a grocery store in Kamloops on Saturday, July 15.
In an update from the Surrey RCMP posted Thursday afternoon on Twitter, investigators have confirmed Verity Bolton, the woman suspected of abducting 10-year-old Joshuah Bolton and 8-year-old Aurora Bolton, was in Kamloops grocery shopping this past Saturday.
On Tuesday, July 18, RCMP received a report of two children who had not been returned to their father, by their mother, after a vacation to the Kelowna area. As a result of the investigation, the Surrey RCMP issued an urgent an Amber Alert in its efforts to locate 8-year-old Aurora Bolton and 10-year-old Joshuah Bolton of Surrey. Both children were reported missing on July 18 from Surrey.
Surrey RCMP say in a news release that its serious crimes unit has taken over conduct of the investigation. According to a report from the Canadian Press, Verity Bolton was supposed to return her two children on July 17 to their father, who has primary custody.
