CHILLIWACK — Efforts to locate a 21-year-old man from Surrey who was last seen in the water at Cultus Lake on Wednesday evening will resume today.

According to a statement from the Upper Fraser Valley Regional Detachment, Chilliwack RCMP, Cultus Lake, BC Emergency Health Services and Chilliwack Search were dispatched Wednesday, July 19 shortly after 5 p.m. for the report of a possible drowning at Cultus Lake.

Witnesses advised that a man in his early 20s entered the water in an attempt to rescue his friend who he believed was drowning, but he himself did not know how to swim.
