Chilliwack firefighters limit damage in Sunday house fire
CHILLIWACK — Nearly two dozen firefighters worked quickly to protect a home from major damage in an afternoon fire Sunday.
A news release from the Chilliwack Fire Department says, firefighters from four fire halls responded to a house fire in the 49000 block of Chilliwack Central Road at 3:26 p.m.
When they arrived, they saw smoke rising from the two-storey home. The lone occupant of the home had already evacuated the home.
Once firefighters got into the house they found a small fire in the basement and quickly doused the flames.
