Hope firefighters douse three suspicious fires

HOPE — An investigation is underway, looking into how three fires began near each other Wednesday (Jul. 5) morning in Hope.

A news release from the District of Hope Fire Department, says firefighters were alerted to smoke in the area of Olson Avenue and Golf Course Road just before 5:30 a.m.

Crews responded and found three separate fires burning in an empty lot. The fires were burning grass and other ground material. Two of the fires had grown to an area of about 40 ft by 40 ft by the time firefighters were able to douse the flames.
