Partner at Baker Newby in Chilliwack honoured with King’s counsel designation
CHILLIWACK — From playing women’s basketball at Queen’s University, to fighting forest fires in Ontario, and working in Jamaica and Guatemala on global outreach projects, Cristen L. Gleeson has worn many hats in her life.
Today, thanks to her exceptional contributions to the legal profession in British Columbia, she has earned one of the highest distinctions in the industry.
Gleeson, a managing partner with Baker Newby LLP, a law firm that was established in 1937, and has offices in Chilliwack and Abbotsford, was one of 30 lawyers to earn the King’s counsel designation for their counsel, teaching contributions, publications, advocacy and volunteerism.
In a news release from the Attorney General’s office on Thursday (May 4), the B.C. government says appointees include lawyers in private practice, government, and academia.
