Surrey RCMP identify deceased man with tattoo of Angelica, $100 bill hat
SURREY — Last week, Mounties in Surrey issued a media release asking for help in identifying the remains of a man who had a tattoo of “Angelica” along with a distinctive hat and T-shirt.
Within hours of the media release, Surrey RCMP say police received multiple calls from people providing information to help identify the person.
In a news release issued Wednesday morning (May 3), Surrey RCMP say they followed up on the information and continued to work closely with the B.C. Coroners Service to confirm the identity. Police say the man’s identity has now been confirmed and criminality is not believed to be an associated factor in his death.
Under file 2023-25444, police now say that out of respect for the deceased’s family and their request for privacy, they will not be releasing his name. Surrey RCMP are expressing thanks to the media and the public for their assistance.
