CHILLIWACK — After two years, members of the Chilliwack and District Real Estate Board (CADREB) were decked out in their finest at an awards ceremony earlier this month to not only celebrate the COVID-19 years, but recognize a tireless volunteer and member from Chilliwack.

During its gala on Saturday, March 18 at Evergreen Hall in downtown Chilliwack, CADREB took time to honour longtime realtor, member and volunteer Liz Tutt by presenting her with an Honorary Membership award, according to Stephen Lerigny, executive director of the Chilliwack and District Real Estate Board.

Tutt joined the board in 1984, became a director of CADREB in 1987, served as president in 1991, and took on the role of CADREB past president for two years.

Tutt took a turn as a B.C. Real Estate Association director in 1992 and would later become BCREA president in 2002. She was recognized as a CADREB Realtor of Distinction in 1996, an honour that is rarely given out, Lerigny said.

Tutt moved on to the Canadian Real Estate Association and served there in 2005 and 2006, all while serving on various committees spanning local, provincial and federal levels, Lerigny said.

“Then, being the dedicated person she is, she moved on to the then-Real Estate Council of B.C., now BCFSA, serving [from] 2007-2010. She also served as Chair of the Real Estate Errors and Omissions Insurance Corporation in 2017,” Lerigny said. “It was because of her willingness to serve our profession that the 2022 CADREB directors put her name forward to become the latest CADREB Honorary Member.”
