Ram pickup sought by Chilliwack RCMP in shooting eluded police officers by just minutes
CHILLIWACK — As RCMP investigators continue to pore over video and gather evidence following Saturday night’s apparent gang-related shooting near Peach Park at the entrance to the Vedder Rotary Trail, the driver of a white Dodge Ram pickup truck sought by investigators appears to have evaded police by about six minutes.
What’s more, the Dodge Ram pickup truck appears to have only been in the Peach Road corridor leading to Peach Park for an entire span of nearly three minutes before fleeing the area at a high rate of speed.
According to information and time-stamped images shared by residents of the area on Monday (March 27), a white Dodge pickup that RCMP have identified as a vehicle of interest in the shooting appears to access Peach Road just before 8:12 p.m. It continued driving south on Peach Road, which dead ends at the parking lot. The same Dodge Ram later raced north away from Peach Road and did not stop at the stoplight at Peach and Keith Wilson.
