Agassiz RCMP say hit-and-run sends one to hospital
AGASSIZ — One man is in hospital after being struck by a vehicle, in an apparent hit-and-run incident along Yale Road in Popkum Friday (Jan. 20) evening.
Agassiz RCMP says the crash occurred just before 9 p.m. In a news release police say a man and woman had been walking eastbound on Yale Rd when a pickup approached them from behind, struck the man and then sped away. The man suffered serious but non-life threatening injuries and was transported to hospital.
The vehicle is described as a newer model grey pickup truck with tinted windows.
