People dealing with mental health and addiction challenges often have complex needs, and when those needs are not met with nuanced solutions it can lead people to a cycle of evictions, shelters, emergency rooms and incarceration.
Everyone deserves safe housing, here in the Fraser Valley and across the province, and that’s why our government is investing in specific supports to help people who are facing overlapping challenges related to mental health, substance use, trauma and brain injuries.
This week, our government announced 22 new complex care housing spaces coming to Chilliwack.
The support that people receive in complex care housing goes beyond the care available in regular supportive housing, and offers enhanced supports like having social workers, nurses, peer workers and other healthcare professionals come right to your home.
