Chilliwack council candidates express thanks after successful campaign
CHILLIWACK — Following an intense 29-day political campaign filled with participation in several debates, countless communication with constituents, social media engagement, and sign-posting all over town, victorious Chilliwack City Council candidates have acknowledged the voters who elected them to serve a four-year term.
Nicole Huitema Read posted to Facebook Sunday night that she was grateful to all her family, friends and supporters for helping her campaign. She succeeded in her first try for city council.
“I would like to thank my family, friends and supporters, without every single one of your help I would not be here today,” Huitema Read wrote on Facebook. “The door knocking, social media and lawn sign support did not go unnoticed. I am excited to work with this amazing team to continue moving this beautiful city forward. Thank you again to every single one of you. I can’t wait to see what the next 4 years [have] in store for us.”
Chris Kloot expressed similar sentiments after voters returned him for a third term on council.
