Cheam Leisure Centre pool to re-open Monday, Sept. 19 for lane swimming only

CHILLIWACK — Sardis families who are eager to get their kids back in the Cheam Leisure Centre pool will have to exercise a bit more patience.

The Chilliwack YMCA, now the exclusive operator of two city-owned recreation centres and the seasonal Rotary pool, announced late Saturday afternoon (Sept. 17) that the Cheam Leisure Centre pool will re-open on Monday, September 19 for lane swimming only from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

There will only be two lanes available for public use after 12:30 p.m. due to swim club rental (e.g., Spartan Swimming).

The Chilliwack YMCA asks residents to check its website for updates on hours while it trains and hires aquatic staff:

The Chilliwack Landing Leisure Centre pool was open for limited hours on Saturday, September 17 from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Staff there are still working on developing the pool schedule.
