
Former Chilliwack resident and high-risk sex offender wanted on a Canada-wide warrant after leaving his Vancouver halfway house
VANCOUVER — Vancouver Police are on the lookout for a high-risk sex offender who was released from Kent Institution in Agassiz on Thursday (Aug. 25) but left his halfway house in Vancouver just hours after being released from custody.
John Frederick Field, 60, who previously lived in Chilliwack, received his statutory release from Kent Institution on Thursday, but left his Vancouver halfway house around 7:30 p.m. and has not been seen or heard from since.
Field has reportedly spent at least 32 years in custody over the last 40 years, according to a published report in 2020.
His current whereabouts are unknown, and he is considered a significant risk to the public.
