Chilliwack Chiefs name Abram Wiebe of Mission as their 33rd team captain
CHILLIWACK — It’s an honour that carries an incredible amount of responsibility and leadership weight to it, but Chilliwack Chiefs defenceman Abram Wiebe of Mission has shown he’s capable of rising to the challenge.
The Chilliwack Chiefs are honoured to name Abram Wiebe as captain for the 2022-23 BCHL season.
“We are very proud to name Abram Wiebe as the next captain of our program. He is a player who has worked extremely hard at his craft and enjoys earning everything he gets in the game. He has so much character, and we know he will do a tremendous job leading our young group this season,” said Brian Maloney, Chilliwack Chiefs general manager and coach.
Wiebe, who stands 6’3″ and weighs 195 pounds, will serve as the 33rd captain in team history. He turns 19 years old this Sunday (Aug. 28).
