MLA Pam Alexis says provincial investment to support unhoused in Abbotsford
ABBOTSFORD — In a press release sent out Monday morning (Aug. 22), MLA Pam Alexis said that people experiencing homelessness will have more access to support services in Abbotsford thanks to provincial funding.
“Our communities are at their best when we are taking care of one another,” she said. “Funding local projects and services that are nuanced in their approach is vital to supporting our unhoused neighbours.”
The City of Abbotsford will receive $625,000 through the project Building Bridges for Service Integration. The project will address safety challenges through two programs—CEDAR Outreach and Project SWIFT.
The press release also stated that the New Democrat government will invest more than $15 million in projects across 44 communities as part of the Strengthening Communities’ Services program.
